Land Rover ATP Quick Release Wheel System

The quick release wheel system is unique to the Land Rover ATP pushchairs and gives two key benefits:

Compact Storage. Unless your walks always start from your house you will be transporting the pushchair in a car.  A Land Rover ATP with the wheels removed takes up far less space and is an easier shape to store in the boot. (If you don't already have children you may not yet understand quite how much 'stuff' has to be packed into that boot, even for a short visit !)

Quarantine ! If the wheels are covered in mud (or some other unpleasant substance commonly found on countryside walks) then they can be removed and stored separately in a bag.  Your car stays in better condition and when you get home you can just hose the wheels clean without splattering it over the rest of the pushchair.

Removing or refitting the wheels is simple and takes seconds.

To remove the wheel simply loosen the wing nut on each side and slide forward.

When fitting the wheel ensure that the axle is pushed firmly home into the forks on both sides while you tighten the wing nuts. If the front wheel is not properly aligned then the pushchair may veer in one direction.

Note that there is a left wheel and a right wheel, they are not interchangeable. The axles both have a flat upper surface and a half moon cut out which faces to the rear of the pushchair.

To refit the wheel lift the toggle and insert the axle flat side up and half moon cut out to the rear. Once inserted release the toggle to lock in position.

With the wheels removed and the pushchair folded flat your single Land Rover will fit compactly into the optional Land Rover Carry Bag.
Notes.
  • Many people find that removing the rear wheels alone is sufficient, the pushchair can then be stored with a dirty front wheel upwards in the boot of the car.
  • If you don't need the remove the wheels regularly thats OK but it is possible that an accidental knocks in the car or against things on walks may loosen a wing nut and allow the front wheel to go out of proper alignment causing the pushchair to veer slightly - so it is a good idea to check them occasionally. People who frequently refit the wheels don't tend to have this problem as they are regularly maintaining proper wheel alignment and tightness of the wing nuts.
