Infant Car Seat Shade & Insect Net

Baby Car Seat Shade

Can be used in a car BUT only if the handle can be in the upright position to support the shade - it is important that you check the instructions provided with the infant car seat

A valuable new product for parents as infant car seats are used so extensively for transporting babies - not only in cars but also mounted on pushchairs or carried wherever you go. Strangely though it may not be so practical for use in a car !
easy to fit, it uses the infant car seat handle for support Easy to fit, simply slip over the baby car seat with the handle in the upright position
provides shade provides all round shade unlike a parasol (but not does not provide UV protection, see notes below)
significantly reduces the risk of insect bites and stings protects against insects...flies, midges, wasps, bees etc.
use outside use outside...on a pushchair, in the garden, at the seaside, by the pool, etc.
an access flap enables you to carry the car seat without removing the shade does not have to be removed to carry the car seat around - there is an access flap
going anywhere nice this year ? ideal for your holiday in the sun
good quality well made of good quality durable fabrics
small enough to keep in the compartment at the back of the infant car seat (if yours has one) folds compactly for convenient storage 20cm x 23cm x 2cm
may, or may not work in your car not so practical in the car if the carrying handle has to be in the down position since this is what supports the shade, and it depends how the seat belt secures the infant car seat. But if it works on your car seat then you can get rid of those annoying window shades which restrict the drivers view and prevent the windows being opened on a sunny day !
you should still use sun creams does not provide UV protection so you should still use sun protection skin creams etc.
So if it's a shade why doesn't it protect against UV ?

Confused ?

Well as we understand it, it's like this... to be sold as a UV protector the product must be tested to demonstrate that the amount of UV getting through meets certain standards. Having these tests done is both expensive and time consuming. This product does not have that relevent testing certificate and, who knows, if tested perhaps it might not pass. BUT it can be sold as a shade because the material it is made from has been tested and demonstrated to block more than 50% of the 'incident visible sunlight' - what you see, or in this case what your baby doesn't see, is what you get !

If you buy one it is likely that the material it is made from will remind you of some of the older style car window shades.

The Baby Car Seat Shade has BSI approval to be sold for use both in and out of a car.

We hope this explanation is helpful.
