Buggy Optional Accessories
Carrycot -
Replaces the normal seat on one side (either left or right) turning that side into a
'pram' so you can use your Mountain Buggy Double from the birth of a new baby when you
already have a young toddler. Better than the Reclining Seat even in it's lowest position
this accessory is purpose made for those first few months when health professionals insist
that new-born babies must lie flat. And of course the carrying handles mean that you can
use it as a cot independent of your Mountain Buggy. Note that there is not a separate
storm cover available for the double carrycot
Twin Carrycot - As a
general rule the world isn't designed for mothers with twins, the Mountain Buggy Twin
Carrycot is an exception to that rule - this is a seriously nice accessory and with the
Twin Carrycot fitted the pushchair looks and feels superb. When I fitted the Twin Carrycot
to take some pictures my wife expressed regret that she had not had twins herself !?
Replaces
both seats turning the pushchair into a double 'pram' so you can use your Mountain Buggy
Double from the birth of twins...and
does it with style. Note that
when the babies are in the Twin Carrycot the width and weight needs two people to carry it
or mount it onto the pushchair, without occupants it can be done by yourself alone.
Storm Cover - Fits
over the sun canopy but folds up for easy storage in the pushchair basket.
UV Sunshade (Shade-a-Babe) -
Mountain Buggy have this made specially for their pushchairs by the makers of the
Shade-a-Babe to the same specification. Ultra
violet sun protection, a cat net and an insect net all in one.
Travel
Bag -
protects your Mountain Buggy from knocks and scratches ...but not crushing by airport
baggage handlers when they put your pushchair at the bottom of the cargo hold ! (get your
pushchair as close to the aircraft steps as possible so that it goes on the top).
Handlebar
Extension - If
you are tall or have a back problem then a handlebar extension may be a valuable
accessory. Adds about 8cm (3") to the handle height and increases the distance to the
rear axle for a longer stride. Folds away
when not in use.
Hand
Brake - due to
the extra weight the hand brake can be more useful on the Mountain Buggy Double
either for jogging (due to the width double pushchairs track better than singles) or if
you live in a hilly area for slowing descent - but and it can clog up with mud if used off
road when its wet.
Other
Optional Extras
Snuggle
Bag -
seriously luxurious weather protection. A quality mummy style sleeping bag fully fleece
lined with waterproof exterior made to take the straps on the pushchair seats.
Mini
Snuggle Bag a smaller
version of the Snuggle Bag for the younger baby (say up to six or seven months) for use in
the Zip Hammock or Recline Seats. It can also be used in the Clipon Carrycot but since
that is fully padded it may be a bit over the top..
Lambskin
Stroller Fleece - 100%
Natural Lambskin fleece designed to fit the standard seat and harness, but for real luxury
you can also use it to line the base of the Carrycot. Lambskin soothes & calms infants
& toddlers, warm and cosy in cold weather and in warm weather absorbs perspiration to
ensure that your child stays dry and comfortable.
Lambskin
Shoulder Harness Covers - 100%
Natural Lambskin fleece covers for the shoulder harness straps to make them more comfy.

Lambskin Shoulder Harness Covers supplied FREE with all Mountain Buggy Pushchairs !
Head Hugger
- most head huggers are all 'flounce' and no substance, but not this one which
provides good quality head support when a
baby first uses the seat in a more upright position also the shoulder harness straps may
pass near their ears, a head hugger can correct this by concealing the strap which is
above the baby's shoulders. Not recommended for a very young baby in the Reclined Seat in
it's lowest position.
Body
Harness - can
be preferable to the five point harness on the standard seat for the smaller child or
escapologist or in the Carrycot if the top cover is not fitted.
Kiddy
Board - you
can't yet fit a Kiddy Board to a Mountain Buggy Double Terrain but it will fit on the new
models due early 2003, however it still won't work if either of the standard seats
is fully reclined.
Cyclaire
Mini Pump
with gauge
-
revolutionary design
significantly reduces the effort required to inflate a tyre and enables you
to do it in a better position so it's excellent for people with a bad back, compact and
lightweight.

Enhanced
Puncture Protection - Punctures
aren't normally a serious problem for most users, but it's unrealistic to think that you
won't get any. Mountain Buggy ATPs have pneumatic tyres to give a smooth ride but just
like a bicycle punctures are possible. It depends how inconvenient punctures would be for
you whether you want to take extra precautions - for the serious countryside walker or in
areas with lots of hawthorn hedges it may be worth upgrading the puncture protection. We
offer several puncture protection options, heavy duty
Thorn Resistant
Inner Tubes , Sureride Anti-Puncture Tape and Flat-Away Puncture Resistant Kevlar Tape either as spares for you
to fit, or you can have your pushchair supplied with them pre-fitted on the wheels.
